The Great Oak Moot

Dedicated to bands and musicians we love and work with.

Either on or off the podwaves, we all love some sounds. These are the bands we know and love and hopefully when you listen to them, you will feel the same way as we do.

Schelmish

We first came across this rather unique German group a couple of years ago when they performed a gig in Nottingham. A few of us managed to attend and there was not one of us who didn't fall instantly under their spell. We have included both their UK and German sites to the link section since not everyone can speak German but those who can are in for a real treat.

Inkubus Sukkubus

Inkubus Sukkubus formed in the summer of 1989 when Tony McKormack, Candia Ridley and Adam Henderson met at college studying graphic design. They shared an interest in paganism, witchcraft and vampirism as well as making original music from an early age, and so the type of band that was to emerge from the joining of forces was, quite naturally, an expression of this. Initially the band was called Incubus Succubus. The original aim of the band was (as it still is today) to be the vehicle in which the celebration of the Pagan experience could be conveyed.

Daughters of Gaia

"In the beginning was the sound..." and thus begins the ultimate journey into the realms of musical landscapes and vocal temptation, leading the listener into a world of mystery, magic and passion.

SJ Tucker

This rising star now has six full-length studio albums available in stores and online, including a pair of compelling companion CDs for Catherynne M. Valente's mythpunk series: The Orphan's Tales. S.J. Tucker, "the little woman with the big voice" (Memphis Records), will make you think, laugh, dance, and be still by giving you songs to sink your teeth into. With this Skinny White Chick, what you see is only a petite cross-section of what you'll get, and what you hear is undeniably powerful.
